October is a great time for a spooky ghost tour or adventure! Rhythm & Brews Concert Series in downtown Hendersonville, NC wraps up the 2018 concert series with the popular Asheville “Appalachiacana” band Tellico at 7PM on October 11, 2018. With vivid, original storytelling, vibrant musicianship and intelligent arrangements, Tellico creates an innovative sound that redefines what today’s Southern Appalachian music can be. Instead of modernizing tradition, Tellico takes it deeper, effortlessly weaving meaningful, imaginative songwriting with intelligent arrangements.
Starting the evening off at 5PM will be Angela Easterling with a duo performance followed by her back up band, The Beguilers, joining her at 7PM. Her rootsy, refreshing and homespun tunes and lyrics are sure to get the crowd moving along with her on a journey.
People love to visit our area to seek out all the local farms, many of which are stocked up on various varieties of apples and pumpkins this time of year. In fact Stepp's Hillcrest Orchard, nominated as one of the 10 best apple orchards in the US, is opening their pumpkin patch today! If you like to attend Oktoberfest events, this one can't be missed. Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest 2018 in Mills River (WNC's 2nd largest tourist attraction behind Biltmore House and Gardens) pulls out all the stops for a Saturday of fun. The brewery and its amazing beer garden is closed to everyone except 2018 Oktoberfest ticket holders. Your ticket includes all of the day's events including a shuttle ride, live bands, an Oktoberfest feast and of course, beer! Feel free to don your lederhosen and hoist a stein in celebration. Saturday, October 13th, 2018, 5pm-10pm. Tickets must be purchased in advance, and they go fast. And of course this 2018 Oktoberfest will be right around the peak of our leaf season, so book your long weekend early at the Mill House and enjoy all that fall has to offer in the mountains of Western North Carolina.
