Biltmore Blooms, March 20-May 24, 2018: Nothing says spring quite like the tens of thousands of blooms bursting on the grounds of Biltmore, America’s largest home. The three-month spring flower celebration kicks off with orchids in the conservatory and 50,000 tulips of all shades and hues. April brings irises, roses and azaleas. Pink and white Mountain Laurel and rhododendrons close the show.
Asheville Orchid Festival, March 24-25, 2018 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.): World-class orchid growers and regional orchid societies exhibit brilliant displays of these beloved blooms at the North Carolina Arboretum. Orchids will be for sale by vendors from around the world during the festival, which is now in its 20th year.Asheville Herb Festival, May 4-6, 2018 (8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fri./Sat.; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sun.): The largest herb festival in the United States and Canada is now in its 29th year. Learn from herb growers, herbalists and related businesses while also seeing demonstrations from experts on natural gardening and landscaping.
Mountain Sports Festival, May 25-27: Celebrate the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains with other outdoor sports enthusiasts, gear makers, and adventure companies. In addition to adventurous competitions, this free event also features live music and great food! Read more here from Explore Asheville
The Annual Garden Jubilee Festival has been the place for one-stop shopping for garden lovers for 25 years. Garden Jubilee is Hendersonville’s premier lawn & garden show, and one of the largest gardening shows in the Western North Carolina. It's a great place to meander along the serpentine streets of downtown Hendersonville, looking at booth after booth of beautiful and unusual plants and yard art. The two-day Festival will be held in Downtown Hendersonville, on Saturday, May 26 & Sunday, May 27, 2018 from 9am-5pm both days of Memorial Day weekend.
The bears are coming back to the streets of Hendersonville! Be the first to see this years 20 Bearfootin’ bears as they are revealed on-by-one by the artist and sponsor. Learn about the causes they support, what inspired the artist and what motivated the sponsor.The bears will stay on Main Street for the public to see all summer before they are auctioned off in October. Half of the auction proceeds go toward nonprofits and organizations associated with each bear. The remaining half goes to Downtown Hendersonville to keep the event going next year.
